Our Pastor

4:10-11: “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

Reverend Sharon D. Bennett

Sharon Denice Kelly-Bennett, born on March 19, 1958, is a proud native of Little Rock, Arkansas. As the fifth of seven children, she grew up in a deeply rooted Christian household that laid the foundation for her lifelong walk with Christ. She graduated from Central High School in 1976 and went on to study Business Administration at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR). She has been joyfully married to Recco W. Bennett, Sr. for over 44 years. Together, they have two sons—Bryan D. Bennett of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Recco W. Bennett II of Tulsa, Oklahoma—and are blessed with four grandsons: Kelton, Jaidyn, Recco III (Trey), and Kade. Pastor Bennett accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at the tender age of seven. Her passion for God’s Word began early, and she was often asked to teach Sunday School as a young girl. Her deep love for Scripture led her to spend countless hours studying and collecting Bibles and Christian literature, which continues to be a source of inspiration and spiritual growth. She received her call to ministry at age sixteen and was officially ordained in September 1993. She later graduated from the School of Ministry at Dominion Word Ministries in North Little Rock, Arkansas, in October 1997. Known for her anointed teaching and preaching, Rev. Bennett ministers with boldness, conviction, and compassion. Her messages are rooted in Scripture and empowered by the Holy Spirit, calling believers to pursue righteousness, holiness, and intimacy with Christ. Pastor Bennett is the founder of Unite Women in God’s Image, a vibrant women’s ministry that helps women discover and operate in their God-given gifts. Her heart’s mission is to see every believer walk in their divine purpose, fully equipped to serve and glorify God. She has faithfully served as an Elder, Asst. Pastor, and Interim Pastor, sequentially since 2021, at Greater Friendship Christian Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. In November 2024, she was appointed and installed as the church’s Pastor, a position she holds with humility and unwavering dedication. At the center of Pastor Bennett’s ministry is a love for God’s Word and a reliance on the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Her vision is to see lives transformed through the truth of Scripture, the presence of the Holy Spirit, and the demonstration of God’s love. She is a woman of prayer, praise, and worship—devoted to equipping the saints for the work of ministry through teaching, fellowship, training, and spiritual empowerment.
